What's going on around here?
Here's how it works!
First, you might want to try searching for your answer. Chances are, someone else has already had the same problem you are! If you can't find what you're looking for by searching, you can post your question in our Forums, where other users will try to answer your question.

Dead Sea Scrolls go from parchment to the Internet
Aug 27, 2008 - 1:41 PM - by TechGuy
More than 2,000 years after they were written, the Dead Sea Scrolls are going digital as part of an effort to better preserve the ancient texts and let more people see them than ever before.

The high-tech initiative, announced Wednesday, will also reveal text that was previously not visible to the naked eye.

Over the next two years, the Israel Antiquities Authority will digitally photograph and scan every bit of crumbling parchment and papyrus that makes up the scrolls, which include the oldest written record of the Bible's Old Testament.

The official web site of the Israel Antiquities Authority is here: http://www.antiquities.org.il/module...p?Module_id=57

Robotic suit helps paraplegics walk
Aug 27, 2008 - 1:37 PM - by TechGuy
An Israeli company develops remote-controlled suit that enables paraplegics to walk.

ReWalk, Argo Medical Technologies' robotic suit, allows people who are paralysed below the waist to stand, walk, climb and descend stairs. The system consists of motorised leg supports, body sensors, a computerised control box and rechargeable batteries The user picks a setting, then leans forward to activate the body sensors and set the robotic legs in motion.

They say that the system is "expensive" at US$ 20,000... but that doesn't seem unreasonable to me. How much is it worth to be able to walk?

Photoshop Tries to Win Over the Web 2.0 Crowd
Aug 27, 2008 - 1:39 AM - by webaddict
What should photo imaging software giant Adobe (Nasdaq: ADBE) be focusing on in a Web 2.0 world? Judging from some new products, it's not just taking on the likes of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhoto and Aperture; it's learning to work and play well with social networks like Facebook and digital media storage Web sites such as Flickr.
